The Brick Flyer

The Brick

Still owned and operated by it's founder, Bill Comrie, formally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks for pro-hockey, Comrie declined the opportunity to play pro hockey to focus on his Edmonton furniture business.

The Brick got its name from a move in 1975, when the store relocated to a large "brick" building in downtown Edmonton and was renamed from "Bill Comrie's Furniture Warehouse" to "The Brick Warehouse" and later simply "The Brick". As of June 2008, The Brick has over 200 locations across Canada that include regular stores, mattress superstores and clearance stores. The Brick also operates six massive distribution centres. Combined, this makes The Brick Canada's largest retailer of home furnishings, mattresses, appliances and consumer electronics all under one roof.
